Computex 2024 Day Three: IoT, Displays and Solid-State Cooling

One thing that often strikes me is that our coverage sometimes misses some of the fascinating things going on around the world in the electronics industry, maybe as a result of U.S. and European companies being much more PR and marketing focused. In this final daily roundup from Computex 2024, I reflect on the diversity of people I have met over the last few days here at the show in Taipei, covering everything from drones for cleaning solar panels in Jordan to industry 4.0 in India, as well as things like smart, large, transparent OLED displays, AR technology and more.

You can watch the final daily roundup from Computex 2024 below:

With more and more demands for powerful computing requiring more and more energy, almost all major companies are communicating a sustainability message. A common theme we have heard this week is to focus on delivering greater performance with greater efficiency.

But another aspect is the performance-limiting challenge of running processors and systems at maximum performance. A company that has developed a novel solid-state, active cooling system, Frore Systems, just announced a series C fundraising of $80 million in the last two weeks, bringing its total money raised to $196 million.
